Glossary Of Terms




POP (Post Office Protocol):  A standard way of letting users retrieve messages that were sent to their email account. A POP server is a machine that a computer program connects to in order to retrieve email. The POP server may reside on your local network or on the network of your Internet Service Provider. BounceStudio Enterprise uses POP to retrieve messages from your email account(s).




SMTP (Simple Mail Transport Protocol):  A standard way, as defined by RFC 821, for sending electronic mail from one computer to another. BounceStudio Enterprise uses SMTP to send messages queued up by the SMTP Forward functionality.




TreeView Window:  The TreeView Window is the area highlighted in red in the illustration below. The TreeView Window is part of the BounceStudio Admin Utility.
