Server Information

Outgoing SMTP Server - The "Outgoing SMTP Server" is the email server that the BounceStudio SMTP Service will use to send any queued SMTP Forward messages. By default, most SMTP email servers utilize port 25 to communicate. If required, you can change the port that the BounceStudio SMTP Service will use to connect to the Outgoing SMTP Server.The BounceStudio SMTP Service will not start, unless the "Outgoing SMTP Server" setting is configured.

SMTP Server Port - By default, most SMTP email servers utilize port 25 to communicate. If required, you can change the port that the BounceStudio SMTP Service will use to connect to the outgoing SMTP server. For example, if your outgoing SMTP server supports SSL or TLS encrypted connections then you can set the appropriate port here (i.e. SSL: Port 465, TLS: Port 587). Check with your email server manager/hosting-provider to see what is required for your outgoing SMTP email server.


Login Information

If your outgoing SMTP Server requires authentication, you can enable it here. Selecting the "My outgoing SMTP server requires authentication" option will enable the login/password text boxes, as well as the encryption type drop-down selection box. Enter the appropriate information provided to you by your email server manager/hosting-provider.




Sender Email Information

Email From - The "Email From" setting is the value that the BounceStudio SMTP Service will use as the FROM email address in all messages it sends. This is typically an email address that exists on your local domain. The BounceStudio SMTP Service will not start, unless the "Email From" setting is configured.


Testing Connection

Once you've entered the required information, you can click the "Test Connection" button prior to clicking "Save". BounceStudio will attempt to make a connection to your outgoing SMTP server with the information you provided. If you'd like to send a test message to yourself ("From Email"), select the "Send test email to sender when testing connection" checkbox prior to clicking the "Test Connection" button
