BounceStudio™ Enterprise 5.x - Upgrade Notes

IMPORTANT: If you’re upgrading from a previous version of BounceStudio Enterprise (pre 5.0), then please read these upgrade notes first. If you're upgrading a current install of BounceStudio Enterprise 5.x, then please skip to step 9 below.

1. BounceStudio Enterprise 5.x can NOT run side-by-side on the same machine with previous versions of BounceStudio Enterprise (pre 5.0). Do not install BounceStudio Enterprise 5.x onto your "live" system unless you're ready to upgrade straight away. It's best to uninstall any previous versions (pre 5.0) first.

2. BounceStudio Enterprise 5.x requires a new unlock code if you’re currently running a previous version of BounceStudio Enterprise (pre 5.0). An unlock code can be purchased from our website at http://www.boogietools.com/sales/.

3. When upgrading from previous versions of BounceStudio Enterprise (pre 5.0), we recommend NOT installing into the same folder as previous versions of BounceStudio Enterprise.

NOTE: The {CommonAppDataFolder} folder mentioned in steps 4-6 below is typically found in the C:\ProgramData folder starting with Windows Vista operating systems. Prior to Windows Vista (i.e. Windows XP), the {CommonAppDataFolder} is typically found in the C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\ folder. These are system folders and typically hidden by default. Furthermore, the {Pre_BounceStudioEnterprise5_InstallDir} folder is the folder you installed your previous version of BounceStudio Enterprise (pre 5.0) to.

4. Pop Account Settings Files - When upgrading from previous versions of BounceStudio Enterprise (pre 5.0), you may manually copy all of your previous POP Account settings files from "{Pre_BounceStudioEnterprise5_InstallDir}\Pop Accounts\" to their new location for BounceStudio Enterprise 5.x in "{CommonAppDataFolder}\BoogieTools\BounceStudio Enterprise 5\Monitored Items\Pop Accounts\".

5. Settings Files - When upgrading from previous versions of BounceStudio Enterprise (pre 5.0), you may manually copy your settings files (Settings.ini, Settings_Template_Database.sql, and Settings_Template_Web.web) from the "{Pre_BounceStudioEnterprise5_InstallDir}" folder to their new location for BounceStudio Enterprise 5.x in "{CommonAppDataFolder}\BoogieTools\BounceStudio Enterprise 5\".

6. Bounce Logs - When upgrading from previous versions of BounceStudio Enterprise (pre 5.0), you may manually copy your bounce log folders from the "{Pre_BounceStudioEnterprise5_InstallDir}\Bounce Logs" folder to their new location for BounceStudio Enterprise 5.x in "{CommonAppDataFolder}\BoogieTools\BounceStudio Enterprise 5\Bounce Logs\Pop Accounts\".

7. Message Archive Files - When upgrading from previous versions of BounceStudio Enterprise (pre 5.0), you may manually copy your message archive folders from the "{Pre_BounceStudioEnterprise5_InstallDir}\Message Archive\" folder to their new location for BounceStudio Enterprise 5.x in "{CommonAppDataFolder}\BoogieTools\BounceStudio Enterprise 5\Message Archive\Pop Accounts\".

8. BounceStudio Variable - The #POPACCOUNT# BounceStudio Variable is now deprecated. You should now use #MONITOREDITEM# in its place.

9. BounceStudio Enterprise 5.x Users - When upgrading, we recommend installing into the same folder that your current version of BounceStudio Enterprise 5.x exists in.

10. BounceStudio Enterprise 5.x Users - When upgrading, make sure your currently installed BounceStudio Enterprise Bounce Service, BounceStudio Enterprise SMTP Service, and BounceStudio Admin is completely stopped.

"It's really amazing how many formats you recognize. You asked me what percentage of bounces you were able to recognize and I would say it is very close to 100%."
